Administration & Support Volunteer:

Aim
The volunteer admin/receptionist is a key person in allowing the organisation to run smoothly and efficiently.

Tasks
  • Answering the telephone, taking messages, transferring calls.
  • Opening and recording mail and passing on to appropriate staff.
  • Stamping and recording outgoing mail.
  • Making appointments for surgeries.
  • Dealing with general phone, office and email enquiries.
  • Replenishing general leaflets.
  • Help with clerical tasks, dealing with simple enquiries and referring onto appropriate workers where necessary.
Skills
  • Good telephone manner.
  • Good listening and recording skills.
  • Clear speaking voice.
  • An ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • An understanding of confidentiality.
  • Basic office skills.
Responsible To
Office Manager.

Time Commitment
Flexible, but will need to negotiate.

Training
In-house training will be given. Opportunities for further training will be available.

Support Provided
  • Induction.
  • Support sessions.
  • Volunteer group sessions.
  • Travel expenses.
